Getting a Nose Job

Monday, July 13th, 2009

If you want to get a new look, why not try getting a nose job? Whether the reason why youre going for a rhinoplasty is because youve gotten a bad hand in the genetic game of chance that dictates how your nose looks like, or because you got half your face eaten by a shark, dont worry. This particular cosmetic surgery procedure has been around for thousands of years. Literally!

Out of all the cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries out there, one of the oldest and most popular kinds is rhinoplasty. And when I say oldest, I do mean oldest: rhinoplastys been around since as early as 500 B.C. Why? Because, apparently, in ancient India, one of the more popular forms of punishment for crimes was nose amputation.

Of course, nose amputations aren’t exactly the most popular form of judicial punishment anymore, but rhinoplasty’s definitely still around. And isn’t just about making your nose look prettier nowadays, either. Sometimes, this particular procedure is performed to correct injuries or inborn deformities that might make it hard to breathe. See? The humble nose job is actually a lot more useful than it seems.

Because this kind of procedure is also often used to correct breathing difficulties and other similar problems, other kinds of surgeons perform rhinoplasty too; like maxillofacial surgeons and otolaryngologists (these are surgeons who concentrate mostly on the head and neck).

A lot of celebrities have undergone nose jobs. Of course, it can occasionally be a bit of a bother to try and get celebrities to talk about their plastic surgery and plastic surgery trauma. If you want solid, honest facts though, try checking out photos of certain stars today (I cant really name them, of course; I might end up getting sued or something similarly unpleasant), and comparing those photos with ones that had been taken a few years ago. If youll notice, some of them have cuter noses now, and by extension, faces that can be said to have better flow.

A non-surgical nose job might not be the kind that will get you the look you want, but you can be sure that there are other types of rhinoplasty procedures that can give you what you want. Want to make your nose look a little bit less like the beak of an angry bird of prey and more like a harmonious part of your face? You’ll probably have to get a bit of your sniffer sliced off.

Don’t worry though; the thing with rhinoplasty is that unless your face got eaten by a bear, it’s usually a pretty simple and straightforward kind of surgical procedure that doesn’t have that much risk of infection or post-op bleeding.

For another, even if your nose is just one part of your face, changing that one part can actually go a long way to improving your looks, if you get it done right. With rhinoplasty, an improvement to your looks can be pretty easy to get, and a good nose job can give you a new and improved look thats as plain to see as the nose on your face.

The Best Cellulite Cream

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Want to know the best cellulite cream on the market today? Does the efficacy of the cream depend on the brand? Or do you simply get what you pay for? There’s no real way of telling which the best cellulite cream is, but we’ll try to give you an idea of what to look for!

It can be easy to tell which cellulite creams are better than the others. It’s simply a matter of looking at the label and seeing which ingredients the cream uses. It’s precisely the ingredients that make the creams work as well as they do. Before you spend any money on a cellulite treatment cream, look for the following ingredients.

#1 - Caffeine, or one of its derivatives - Caffeine is one of the most effective cellulite-fighting ingredients in creams today. This is because it raises the metabolism and boosts circulation in the applied area. A higher metabolism means more calories burned, and hence more fat loss. As we all know, cellulite is mostly fat which caffeine can help get rid of.

Another cellulite-reducing aspect of caffeine is that it fights against water retention in the applied area. As one of the leading causes of cellulite, water retention can be beat by using a cellulite cream containing caffeine.

#2 - Collagen - The best cellulite cream for you should contain collagen, or at least another ingredient that stimulates collagen production. Collagen makes skin more elastic, which is important for getting rid of cellulite. The skin loses its elasticity as we get older and can make cellulite look worse over time.

#3 - Retinol - This ingredient is primarily an anti-acne one, but it also can be used to fight cellulite. Retinol goes deep into the skin to stimulate natural collagen production, which as mentioned before makes skin firmer and more elastic, reducing cellulite.

#4 - Herbal Ingredients - If you’re concerned about harmful ingredients and are looking for something a little more natural, you might want to try a natural or organic cellulite cream. There are a lot of new herbal or “organic” cellulite creams making their way to store shelves today, and many women are starting to see good results with these creams.

Since these cellulite creams are all-natural, there’s is potential for less risk with extended use. However it is important to look at the label closely though, as “Contains Natural Ingredients” doesn’t always mean ALL of its ingredients are natural. Also be sure to see if the organic ingredients are certified.

While it may be impossible for many of us to avoid cellulite at all, it’s still possible to lessen the chances of it occurring. The best way to keep cellulite away for good is to live a healthy lifestyle. This includes eating the right food and getting regular exercise. Also getting enough sleep is essential to glowing, smooth skin.
